Today was a travel day for us! We packed in the morning while waiting for Fred to deliver Eva's Chinese passport to us. I have to say that we are a little sad to be leaving Nanjing. We have really enjoyed our visit here. This place will always be so special to us as where we first held our daughter in our arms!

The hotel here has been great! American's could learn alot about customer service from a place like this. I don't think we ever had to push a button to get an elevator; after the first day at breakfast the fry cook remembered how we liked our eggs and had them ready for us each morning; one day I had done some laundry in the bathroom and that evening we heard a knock at the door and they were delivering us a drying rack. I guess housekeeping had noted the laundry and requested that for us. Just an overall great experience!
.We left the hotel at 1:15pm for the airport with Fred and our driver. We boarded the plane at 3:30 for our 4:00pm flight. There we sat for the next 3 hours on the runway! All we could get out of the stewardess, who didn't speak much English, was "air traffic control"...What, were they out to lunch or something?? It wasn't until the next day that we learned there was a typhoon threat near Guangzhou that was the cause for our delay.
Eva slept some and then entertained herself the rest of the time. She liked the headphones and listening to the music. The boys had their Nintendo DS's and Noah watched a movie with no sound and Chinese subtitles!! We later asked him what it was about and he said he didn't know, but yet had sat totally engrossed in it!!Upon landing in Guangzhou, we were met by our guide Peter, but had to wait for another family to arrive before heading to the hotel. Then there was a mixup with our reservation, so it wasn't until 11:20pm that we made it into our room. After such a long day a girl has to get her beauty sleep!!
Meet Mr. Miyagi...Nicholas in his new silk pajamas!!
So sorry to read about the flight delays... Enjoy your time in Guangzhou!
